Read daily with your child and talk about the book.

Oversee homework, but do not complete it for your child.
Make sure your 5-6 year old gets 9-11 hours of sleep and your 7-11 year old gets 8-10 hours of sleep nightly.
Give chores at home to encourage responsibility.
Make children responsible for bringing notes and materials back to school.
Reward good efforts and decisions and give consequences for poor decisions.
Have your child at school every day and make sure to have them on time and avoid picking them up early.
